Mission Statement The Cheltenham Printmakers Guild was established in 1968 by a group of professional printmakers and artists to create an environment for exchanging ideas on processes of printmaking, techniques, as well as larger notions on the aesthetics of art and the creative process. Printmaking has a unique quality where different processes can be used alone or together. New techniques are invented, constantly stretching the boundaries of convention. As an organization the Guild's objective is to share with other artists and the community, through exhibitions, demonstrations, and lectures.
MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATION PROCEDURES Guild members are required to: •The Printmakers Guild is a co-op. Members are expected to volunteer and support our programs, events, exhibitions, etc. •Annual dues are generally collected by December 31st for the coming new year. •Fees for new members joining mid-year will be pro-rated. •The Guild reserves the right to reject exhibition artwork not professionally framed for exhibitions.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE •Membership into the Guild is juried. •Contact: [email protected] •Email 7-10 digital images of your prints. Please crop your images to the edges of each piece so the backgrounds are not visible. •An artist statement about your work or the techniques you explore or use. •A current resume including education, interests, exhibitions, collections, etc. •Guild members review applications for membership on a rolling basis during scheduled meetings. •Following a review of your slides, a guild representative will notify you of your acceptance, usually within several days.
