Carol Wit
Ms. Wit started her journey as an artist by recognizing her love for drawing in junior high. After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) she went on to study art with psychology which resulted in her Masters degree in Expressive/Art Therapy. To date, she continued to focus on printmaking while working in the non-profit sector where she influences people to enrich their lives.
Examples of themes explored by Carol are umbilical cords tying people together, time zones, weaving paint, cave-like images, and circles symbolizing inter connections among people. Her themes, while seeming to reach different directions, always fold into her search for meaning within herself, her world and interactions with other people. To do this Carol employs colors, shapes, and images in changing arrangements.
She has exhibited over 30 years in solo, juried, and group shows and has works in private collections. Long standing gallery exhibitions have been with Jane Law Art Gallery, The Bell Art Gallery, Matrix Gallery and Mermaid Art Studios. In addition to being Vice President of the Cheltenham Print guild, she is a member of the American Color Print Society. Ms. Wit has received honorable mentions and invitations to special exhibitions.
