Herbert Appelson was born in New York City and is a Professor of Art at Rowan University.As a printmaker, Appelson calls his current body of work “thread embossments”. They are dimensional compositions in form, line and texture.
Appelson has won many awards and has exhibited his prints in numerous shows including the Philadelphia Art Alliance, Woodmere Art Museum and the New Jersey State Museum. In addition, his prints are represented in such public collections as Auburn University, Kansas State University, Noyes Museum and Columbia University
